Starting the Process

What is Initial Onboardoing?

When you sign up for any of our support plans, we will schedule to perform an initial and extensive onboarding process. This process allows us to streamline all your systems, make sure security is in place and allows us to begin our monitoring and support services effectively. The initial onboarding is performed on all workstations and servers on your network.

  • Install all missing operating system security patches.
  • Install necessary software updates.
  • Check for and remove any malware, viruses, or adware.
  • Verify security and protection is enabled and functioning properly for us to monitor.
  • Physically clean all equipment, including internal cooling fans, heatsinks, etc.
  • Remove all un-necessary software that would negatively impact performance.
  • Check internet browsers and implement security and protection measures.
  • Validate integrity of all internal and external hardware components. Determine approximate age and potential need for upgrade or replacement.
  • Review, modify and/or implement an effective data backup and protection strategy.
  • Test WAN connectivity and ensure adequate bandwidth and connection quality.
  • Perform a site survey for Wi-Fi coverage and test available bandwidth.
  • Make sure adequate Wi-Fi security is in place and adjust as needed.
  • Analyze router and firewall for adequate protection. Update and modify as needed.
  • Analyze the entire network for security and performance.
  • Review and assist with any necessary compliance issues.
  • After we have completed this initial onboarding, we will schedule a meeting with management to discuss our findings and advise if any major changes are required.
